My housemate and I decided to kick off the festive season with some fun Christmas cooking! We trawled through Westfield Bondi Junction searching for the perfect Christmas tree cookie-cutter and some royal icing mix (found at that homewares shop on the top floor with the big cake-decorating section) then we headed home to cook up a storm.
Well, it's that time of the year for all of the craft-loving Sydneysiders - the Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair is on again at Darling Harbour and we're all very excited! Express Media Group has a stand there, and on Saturday, Handmade editor Victoria and I are heading down there to say hello to everyone.
I love wandering around craft fairs to see what everyone's up to and checking out all the latest fabrics, tools and other products. I'm also a sucker for beading so I'll definitely be hitting up all of those stands too.
I've been going to lots of markets lately where there are loads of gorgeous summer dresses in bright, fresh fabrics - but unfortunately being on a budget means I can't buy everything I see!
So recently when I was at a fabric shop and spotted these funky prints, I knew it was time to make my own dresses. They'll be simple tube dresses elasticised at the waist, perfect for barbecues and get-togethers. Now I just need to find the time to sew them...
