The latest issue of Country Threads hits the newsagent stands today and I hope you’ll enjoy the array of projects we have put together. I stepped outside my comfort zone in making the Farmers Market quilt featured on the cover, but the fabric range is just so delicious, I had to make something! If this range takes your fancy as well, you can purchase the fabric from Busy Thimbles – just contact Annalisa at www.busythimbles.com.au
Creating Country Threads 10-6 has just gone on sale, and once again there was a cheeky animal lurking in one of the photographs. In the foreground of Michelle Ridgway’s beautiful butterfly quilt, the property owner’s cheeky cat flaunted herself for the camera – perhaps the thought of all those butterflies lured her out? We also have a beautiful feature on Guide Dogs, Victoria, and the very worthwhile job some dedicated people do in becoming puppy trainers.
When one of the girls resigned recently to venture back to the UK and her beau, I had to make a little something to remember us by. This baggie by Liz Stanway appeared in Country Threads 10-1 and expressed my sentiments perfectly. We always bring the projects we are working on into the office for show-and-tell, and then the finished project down the track, so this will also prove a timely reminder to keep crafting!
When our magazine stylists and photographers go out on location, I'm always eager to see what magic they have worked with the projects. They are truly talented people and the things they can do with styling, props and lighting are something to behold. Often there are little extras in the background - and sometimes foreground - that get lost as we design the pages in the magazine. A case in point was Bobbie Small's Fields of Flowers from CT Vol 10 No 3. When you look at the upper left-hand section of the image in the magazine, you'll notice a whitish oval that looks like a rock. Not so!
