Time for an adventure ...

By: Kristy Evans

With Christmas only three more sleeps away and the silly season in full swing, instead of wrapping presents and planning Christmas lunch, I am, in fact, counting the days until I hop on a plane and head off on a little adventure to South East Asia. On Christmas Eve, my partner Chris and I will be setting off for four and a half weeks of backpacking through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia and I can’t wait! As you can imagine I’ve been reading hundreds of travel blogs and flipping through countless guide books to soak up as much information and knowledge as I can before we leave. I am so excited about immersing myself in a different culture for a while, but what I have also discovered in all my research and blog hopping is how beautiful and inspirational the colours and sights of these countries are. As well as amazing cuisine, fabulously friendly people and a rich and fascinating history, South East Asia is a beautiful and enchanting place with endless photographic opportunities! I was so excited by all the images I have seen so far that I actually went out and spent most of my savings on a new camera – which I might add is amazing! And as a scrapbooker, of course I justified spending the few extra dollars and no doubt I’ll come back with thousands of images ready to scrap! So for now I’ll leave you with one of the images I stumbled across and promise that my next addition will be when I return with some images of my own travels. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year!
