The Katoomba/Leura/Wentworth Falls Hospital Auxiliary is holding its annual quilt show at the Blue Mountains Retirement Village, cnr Great Western Highway and Queens Rd, Katoomba NSW to raise money for the Blue Mountains District Anzac Memorial Hospital. Lower Clarence Arts & Crafts Association Inc is holding its 47th annual open competitive arts and crafts exhibition at the Gulmarrad Public School, 466 Brooms Head Rd, Gulmarrad NSW, with almost $12,000 in prizes to be won. The exhibition will be split into sections including fine art (painting, drawing, sculpture etc), junior art, craft (scrapbooking, folk art, woodwork etc), patchwork and quilting, creative needlework and wearable art. The Leukaemia Foundation’s Mossman District Branch will hold the sixth annual Airing of the Quilts at the Indoor Sports Centre, Front St, Mossman Qld. There will be over 250 quilts of all different designs and colours from across far-north Queensland on display. There will also be stalls and workshops, and refreshments will be available all day. The Dungog-Clarence Town CWA Quiltarama will be held at two venues; the Dungog RSL, cnr Lord and Brown St, Dungog NSW and the CWA, Dowling St, Dungog NSW. With hundreds of quilts on display, patchwork/sewing/craft stalls and Devonshire and high tea available, there’ll be something for everyone. Open: Saturday 10am-4pm, Sunday 10am-3pm. The annual Berry Quilt and Craft Show will be held at Berry School of Arts, Alexandra St, Berry NSW. To celebrate the event’s 10th anniversary, this year’s show will feature the work of four nationally recognised feature quilters: Caroline Sharkey, Linda Steele, Deborah Louie and Julie Haddrick. One of the largest quilt shows in regional NSW, there will be more than 180 quilts on display including quilters’ challenge entries. Coinciding with Sunday’s Berry Country Fair Markets, there will be lunch and Devonshire tea available as well as cakes, a sausage sizzle and craft stalls.
