Sew me Silly

Description

This is a dress I have made for myself using a retro pattern and patchwork fabrics in retro designs from my stash.

I rarely make things for myself but as part of my bid to finish 100 things in 100 days- go to my blog
http://sewahundred.blogspot.com/ to keep up with my project - I decided to use up some fabric from my UFO stash.

The dress features a fully lined bodice with fabric from the skirt as the lining. I used a complimentary fabric trim for the waistband and hemline and a different complimentary fabric for the outer bodice. The seams are all top stitched to add that extra finishing detail.

The high waist is flattering and the drawstring, in the same fabric as the skirt, creates a flattering line.

Once the hemline is finished I will stitch some retro buttons on the shoulders for detail.

A lovely way to use up some of my patchwork stash. There is fabric leftover to make a dress for a granddaughter or a matching bag.
