know (most of) the basic stitches but don't seem to be able to understand patterns??

Hi all, thanks for all the nice comments! The pattern for this little guy actually came from a Japanese craft book that I bought at Kinokuniya, but didn't have a single English word in it - I had to do the entire thing from the chart. For tfe life of me I can't remember which book in the series it was in, but if you're ineterested, here's a site that has them all so you know what to look out for :)
