The Woodpatch Quilters group was founded in October 1985, by Mrs Judy Butcher, with the aim of bringing together people living in the Adelaide Hills who were interested in patchwork and quilting.
The very first meeting was attended by 31 members, but over the years the numbers have fluctuated, with some members moving on and new ones joining; recently one of the founding members, Gloria Seidel, rejoined after a long period of absence.
Although the faces may have changed, the Woodpatch Quilters’ friendliness, along with their desire to learn and share their knowledge has remained the same. The group currently has around 30 members, with some of the women originally from countries such as Holland, Taiwan, Thailand, England and Scotland.
