Post fabric postcard
Well girls I am learning a lot of new names for products so I will have to check them out. I also like Bunnings for craft and also the fishing aisle in KMart. I use the swivels on my cards.

best wishes,
margaretdawn

Mmmm pinup!!!!

I have had a similar experience to Maureen with the lady from New Zealand but up until now haven't taken it much further. My head has been spinning with all these ideas but have never actually done anything about them. This lady sent me a copy of the Quilting Arts magazine and that was it!! DH even got me soldering iron as a Christmas present (hasn't been used YET!). However, am going to try something with these postcards. This is me who up until I met this lady did all her piecing and quilting by hand!! I was a die hard traditionalist. See what outside influences can do.

Thanks Evie:) :)

Lutrador has arrived and can you believe I have been using it for years. I always refer to it as 'that stuff'. A friend keeps me supplied for free!!
You know all this money I say I am not spending....does just booking a flight to Sydney count?? Well, they were half price!!!

Pinup,

When are you coming to Sydney? How long are you going to be here? I would love to catch up. I work near Central Station so maybe we could meet if you come in to the city.

Jo.

Pinup

Unfortunately I am going to have to pull out of this swap. I really am not feeling too well at the moment and I wouldn't want to let any one down. So sorry but I thought it better to drop out before you put the list out.

Di

Pinup ,
What occupation does your friend have to acquire "that stuff"
I hear they use it in the automobile industry????? Can't think what for,
unless it's something to do with upholstery.
Cheers Jorja

I think it's used in air/oil filters in cars. My friend always seems to be in the right place at the right time when rolls of all sorts of stuff are being given away. I have used Lutrador for fabric books, postcards, ATC's etc etc.
I also now have an endless supply of plastic....great wide stuff. What happens with a lot of these products, they are cut in great lengths, for distribution, off huge rolls. So very often some metres from the end of the roll there isn't enough for the next measure and those are the treasures that are good to score!

Margaret, a good idea is to post your trial card to yourself so you see how it stands up to the mail system.

Pinup perhaps a few of us "Sydney" girls could organise a get together whilst you are over here depending on your schedule.

That would be cool. At this stage my only real plan is seeing Priscilla on Sunday. The friend I am going with is, I think, planning to shop til she drops(clothes) and that's not what I plan to do! Hopefully our accomodation confirmation comes through soon so I will at least know where I'll be based. I have been to Sydney four times before but I certainly don't profess to know my way around but I can follow instructions if I need to get somewhere!

What's the weather like? Don't quite know what to pack! I'm guessing it is similar to what we are having but I suspect it will be colder still by the time I get there. We are having nice days, chilly morning and evening though....about 4pm the time to don another layer.

Hi pinup,

I will try and book some Flex time for that week.

Pack yout light winter clothes with a heavier jacket. Today is cold and overcast, we have had some rain in Sydney. It can get warm during the middle of the day but mornings and evenings are cool.

Jo

Layers are definitely the way to go Pinup. Put them on and take them off as the day unfolds:wink:
