Scrappy squares

Tips type:
Quick tips

Whenever I'm cutting out a project, whether it be a quilt or clothes for the grandchildren, I cut the scraps into squares and pop them into zip-lock plastic bags. I'm not wasting precious storage space on bits of fabric I'll never use and I already have a wonderful assortment of 3in, 2in and 1 1/2in squares 'for free' for my next quilt!

What a great idea for gifts for birthdays etc. Thanks for that. Michele.

Great idea, having squares already sorted into size is so time-saving.

Well this is a great idea. I have loads of scraps and just don't use them, doing this would definitely stop the waste and space they all take up.

Thats a good idea. My problem is not nowing how much fabric to buy when I see some I like but havent got a project for it.

A great tip for us newies, it makes a lot of sense to just keep cutting while the material is at hand and while you are on a mission anyway. Thanks a lot.

Must do that . Im a 6 months old patchworker and have already got plenty to do that with. the sooner I start the sooner I can stay organised. Thanks for the tip. Anne M

Thanks heaps what a good idea, I'm only just beginning but can see great value in this tip.
