Love Bug by Katie Friesen

Love Bug
By Katie Friesen

Katie is an avid Canadian quilter, and believes no other labour on earth can be compared to a hand-stitched quilt. It’s her desire to promote the craft of needlework in an age of mass production, and she’s certainly succeeding, with appliqué-rich quilts that have a William Morris feel. Her latest book contains complete instructions, clear diagrams and full-size patterns for three baby quilts – a hungry frog staring fixedly at the flying insects above him, a lime-green baby turtle and toadstools, and a tiny duckling in a pond. All three projects use simple patchwork techniques with easy appliqué embellishments, and measure 40” x 40”. What better way to welcome a special baby into the world than with a soft and cosy quilt? Love Bug quilts are destined to become a cherished ‘blankie’.

Love Bug is available from Chocolate Coated for $22.95 + $2.75 p&h; visit www.chocolate-coated.com or phone 0404 074 030.
